“The migrants” on show in Naples

Moving from a intimate sphere, Maria Beatrice Coppi focuses its analysis to the contemporary world, identifies the ills that afflict our time and report them taking poetic and allusive choices that have a strong emotional impact. Whether they’re personal conflicts or planetary wars, the passion with which the artist addresses these issues is the deepest root of all his work. In this perennial struggle between matter and spirit, good and evil, fits his interest in a topic as timely as ever, that of refugees of war, forced to flee their homes and their land in a desperate search for salvation. Maria Beatrice has created several works that tell the dramatic situation faced by these people, and has used different techniques for achieving those. Both entitled “Migrants“: the first is a painting of a boat swept away by the waves of a stormy sea with which it is mixed; inside the indistinct shapes of men who try to cling; the second, a bronze sculpture, has the same tragic stage, immortalizing the time of the crossing of the migrants huddled on a sailing boat struggling to stay afloat. The issue of refugees has become increasingly the order of the day. Wars, conflicts and persecutions. The latest report from UNHCR – United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees says these are the major causes that in 2014 brought nearly 60 million people in the world to flee their countries of origin. Compared to other continents, Europe has had the highest increase in arrivals of forced migrants, going from 4.4 million people in 2013 to 6.7 million at the end of last year. The proximity of Mary Beatrice Coppi to this problem led her to choose to expose these works at the exhibition of paintings, sculpture, graphics and photography entitled “ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS OF THE THIRD MILLENNIUM“, to be held at the Gallery of Modern Art “Le porte” in Naples from 11 to 20 June 2016. The exhibition will be presented by prof. Rosario Pinto, who will draw up the matter a color brochure with all the works on display and during the vernissage he will hold a debate on the “Current Status of Modern Art”, to which also  the Association’s artistic director ing. Gennaro Corduas will attend. Do not miss this important opportunity to learn about the new frontiers of contemporary art and to deepen the current issues in accordance with the views of the most valuable Italian artists. The inauguration will take place with drink Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 18.00.
