The Use of colour in the Grès of Maria Beatrice Coppi

The realization of works in multi color grès presents enormous difficulties, very few artists today can face problems of technique. The ceramic, unlike other materials, has the characteristic of containing many technical processes, over the air and the water there is the middle of the fire which can exalt or humiliate the object.

Maria Beatrice Coppi has addressed these technical processes stubbornly and with great persistence, creating valuable and complex shapes with polychrome tiles.

The artist wanted to also explore the beauty of the polychrome with the neriage technique, high-temperature cooking, triggers almost volcanically some interesting chemical processes, so as to enhance both form and color; after cooking it seems that everything has been formed naturally occurs naturally as the birth of a tree or a flower.

Ceramics designed as polychrome stoneware with the neriage technique offers incredible possibilities inventive: in fact, with this technique are born with a natural polychrome painted sculptures, since the steps which are natural lands.
